MADDY EBANKS

Administrative Assistant,

Office of Diversity Enhancement

My advocacy experience derives from serving the East Harlem community as a public education advocate for the years 2004 - 2007. In this capacity, I helped raise awareness of the needs of the public school community, and collaborated with other elected officials, parents, pedagogical staff, and community members to procure resources needed to support the instructional practices of their respective district.

Working in the healthcare field has been a major part of my career with twenty four years of hospital administration, seven years of hospital admitting experience, and most recently an equal amount of years of experience working at the medical school level.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Lehman College, where I majored in Health Care Administration with a minor in Elementary Education.  I excelled in my studies and graduated Cum Laude, and was also on the Dean’s List.  I am a licensed New York State Notary.

I believe in the empowerment of self and others and subscribe to the belief, “that an informed person is an army of one.”  I also believe one’s talents should be utilized to make the world a better place.  I hold a deep sense of justice and desire to do my part to ensure that the right thing is done.  Working as part of a team is where I do my best work, and look forward to using my work experience in support of you, my fellow 1199 Union members, and in furtherance of 1199 Union initiatives.
